PSCAP honors the life and legacy of Dr. Cornelio Banaag Jr.

The Philippine Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry ( PSCAP ) would like to honor the life and legacy of our very own Dr. Cornelio Banaag Jr.

As the Father of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Philippines, he stood as a pillar in the field-widely respected and admired for his invaluable contribution to mental health in the country. Through his visionary leadership, he brought together professionals, institutions and communities in a shared mission to care for and promote the well being of the Filipino youth.

He was a mentor and inspiration to us all, generously sharing his time, knowledge and wisdom. Through his guidance, he trained generations of Filipino psychiatrists to become compassionate clinicians in service of the Filipino people. What he built did not end with him- it lives on in every life touched by his work , every organization he helped build, and every clinician who continues along the path he helped create.

With deep gratitude and profound respect, we honor his life and contributions. May we continue to carry forward his vision with the same dedication, compassion and generosity that he so faithfully embodied.
